Farnborough Airshow: 5 defining moments where GE made headlines

July 13, 2018

The Farnborough International Airshow, a week-long event located just southwest of London, is a trade exhibition for the top aerospace commercial and defense companies around the world, as well as a general air show for the public on its final two days.

Farnborough itself has a long, storied aviation history. It was the United Kingdom’s first airfield used, beginning in 1908. In 1948, nearly 200 exhibitors came out to the flying display and exhibition that was also opened to the public. General Electric joined soon after, with a static display of a J47 engine which now can be found at the GE Aviation Learning Center in Evendale.

Over the last 70 years, GE Aviation has continued to be an integral part of the show. With that in mind, here are five Farnborough Airshow moments that have stood out over time for GE.
